The Factory Schoolhouse is a project by Dr. Eliza Jane Darling, an anthropologist specializing in the social history of the Adirondacks. She is the granddaughter of the last District 3 clerk, Frances Brink, and the daughter of Nancy Buyce, who opened the building to the public as the Old School Museum. Eliza teaches in the Anthropology Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In addition to her academic work, she publishes popularly in Adirondack Life, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise and New York Almanack.
